We have a winner.....

Today was Katlyn's second horse show. She entered 2 classes of walk/trot english pleasure. Notice the judge watching her when there were 15 other riders in the arena.



There were about 15 riders in the first class and after they rode the judge called out the top six. Katlyn was in that top six and since we knew they gave ribbons to the top six we knew she would be getting something. We sat with baded breath as the judge announced 6th place, not Katy, 5th place, not Katy and on down until he said second place, not Katy. We all lost it. SHE WON!!! First place!!! She was so happy she was crying like a first place beauty contest winner!



In the second class which was also walk/trot english pleasure Katlyn took second place. We were so excited!

She got the pad and socks with her first prize ribbon. She got the grooming bag and brush with her second place ribbon and the unicorn plush and second blue ribbon is a just for fun class where the judges gave everyone first place. In that class I rode the horse and Katy lead with a rope.

A gardener is born

Katlyn harvested her first carrot. Its not much to look at but she said it tasted really good.

Kid portraits

Well, since my last portrait of Lori was when she was 5, we decided we'd use Gabriel as an excuse to go take more pictures. Likely story I know but it works. We had these taken at the Wal-mart portrait studio and I was very impressed with the unique poses and ease of the sitting. We did all the photos with Gabriel first and only needed 1-2 shots for each one.

Well he naps GREAT during the day but wakes every two hours during the night. Isn't he a doll? I just want to squeeze him to pieces!
